So, team. Here’s the low-down, the sitch, the deal(io): I am 21, roughly one month out of college - Archaeology and English, yehaw - and this is quite possibly my last summer of freedom before diving into the workforce in all my desperate, loan-afflicted glory. I have a thing for words, and a thing for travel, and a backpack; together, these traits have combined to form what will, until I come up with a better name, be known as “Jaq Takes Trains”.
Having acquired an Amtrak USA Rail Pass - 30 days, 12 “legs” - I have plotted out a trip round the country. I’m bringing a tent, a notebook, a sketchpad, my phone, and something cliché about hopes and dreams.
